South Australian folk troubadours, The Lofty Mountain Band bring their distinct blend of bluegrass, folk and country to Victoria for the first time on Saturday, September 20th.
With a raucous cacophony of vocal harmonies, white-knuckle fingerpicking and home-style bonhomie, their music is ethereal and grounded, often devastating and occasionally transcendent.
Familiar and intimate, urgent and sacral - the band sketch vignettes of South Australia, its landscape and people with mandolin, guitar, banjo, fiddle and double bass.
