Dan Dinnen & Shorty

Dan Dinnen & Shorty dish up a bluesy gumbo of rootsy goodness featuring original tunes and cherry-picked standards laid down with hypnotic fingerpicking guitar, peppered with tasty blues harp, wrapped up and driven along by lush drums ‘n’ percussion. With a pulsing, swinging juke-joint groove, it’s a little bit delta swamp, a little bit hill country, a lot its own unique flavour.

“Dan Dinnen is one of the most authentic blues voices on the scene, but with an individual sound.” - Helen Jennings, PBSfm.

Dan has received multiple MBAS Song of the Year awards, was MBAS Artist of the Year (2017), twice won the MBAS Blues Performer of the Year - making the semi-finals at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN – and is a Chain Award recipient (Group of The Year 2016) for his vocals and harp playing with Greg Dodd & The Hoodoo Men.

Anthony “Shorty” Shortte is an astoundingly original drummer/percussionist with a feel grounded in deep South grooves. Best known for his work with ARIA award winning blues act Collard Greens and Gravy, Shorty’s drumming helped to create a rolling, rollicking, juke-joint sound that captivated audiences at gigs and festivals around the country for 20 years.

Dan Dinnen & Shorty were Music Victoria’s Best Blues Act (2021) and MBAS Solo/Duo of the Year (2022).

Liz Frencham

Liz Frencham is a rare bird. A warm, exuberant performer known for her velvety voice, melodic bass lines and her genre-defying swag of songs. She is loved by music festival audiences for multiple successful collaborations (FrenchamSmith, Jigzag, John Flanagan Trio & Dev'lish Mary) as well as appearing as an accompanist for countless artists both here and across the globe. Think 'Jazz/folk bass diva' or 'Wine-soaked love child of James Taylor and Julie London'. A luminous presence, armed with a double-bass and a supernova smile. She'll be accompanied by Pete Fidler and Tanya Bradley.
