Award-winning composer, singer and pianist Hue Blanes (Piano/Vocals) brings his love of all things Gospel and Jazz to Lowie Live, Lomond Hotel Sunday Sessions. Together with his jazzy friends Michael Jordan (Drums/Vocals) and Jules Pascoe (Double Bass) they are ‘The Up and Downers’.
Playing all the hits like ‘Caravan’ and ‘Mood Indigo’, this will be a session not to be missed.
Brunswick based Hue Blanes is no stranger to Australian ears. This musical savant has graced Melbourne’s jazz clubs for more than two decades appearing in various trios, duos, curating his own shows and as a founding member of Jazz Party and The Melodics. In 2017, Blanes won the prestigious PBS Young Elder of Jazz and received multiple Green Room nominations for his Melbourne International Jazz Festival comedy show Hue Blanes and the Moon. The last 7 years has seen him based in the Netherlands, however Hue is back in Brunswick, Melbourne.
The winner of the 2018 Lucerne School of Music International Jazz Piano competition (Switzerland), Hue and Friends will bring their unique voice to Soul, Blues and Jazz one night only with ‘The Up and Downers’.
